Re: [Maine-birds] Wild birds

Keeping it on wild birds, I snuck in a few hours of solo birding yesterday morning around Little Long Pond here on Mount Desert Island. Nothing unusual, but I did have a significant number of Yellow-rumped Warblers, certainly approaching 100. The next most abundant species was Golden-crowned Kinglet with nearly 50. A few each of Black-throated Green Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, and Blackburnian Warbler.

I (and probably many others ) was wondering the same thing myself.

I was also wondering if others are experiencing the same phenomenon in other parts of the State as here in central Maine--virtually no birds coming to the feeders?  I'm hoping it's because of an abundance of wild feed, rather than a lack of birds.

What about Doug Hitchcox's (Group Moderator) statement, “Please keep posts focused on the reporting of wild bird sightings in Maine.” is unclear to people?
