[Maine-birds] Bald Eagle Cam answers

Thanks to everyone who answered my question.  The consensus appears to be that we need to judge size.  This is difficult to do because we have the feed on in short segments during the day, and I'm often not there.  So we told the kids that the mother is the one usually on the nest.  Being kids, of course, they announced that they knew that, and they could tell the difference by looking.  We did see the male (I assume) bring a Big Fat Fish to the nest, and it's gone now.

In the interest of full disclosure, I am not the teacher of this class.  I am an aide to one of the kids.  But I was delighted to find out that we are doing a unit on the eagles.

Thanks again.  Susan.
