[Maine-birds] "Birds on Tap" Speaker Series: Dr. Erynn Call, April 14th in Portland

 Hi all,

I just wanted to take a moment to invite you to join us for a new series of free lectures that we are co-sponsoring with Dr. Noah Perlut, known as "Birds on Tap."  Building on our successful "Birds, Books, and Beers" series of book signings here in Freeport, we're taking the show on the road.  On Tuesday, April 14th, we'll be joining Rising Tide Brewing Co. in Portland in welcoming Dr. Erynn Call for what we hope will be the first of many events in the series -  a series that looks to bring birders of all levels and ornithologists involved in research together. Dr. Call's work on the Maine Riverbird Network, "a statewide citizen-science initiative aimed at better understanding the links between rivers and birds and the role of birds as ecological indicators," is a perfect way to kick things off.

The evening's events are from 5:00-7:00, with Dr. Call's presentation slated for 5:30-6:30, with time for sampling Rising Tide's great beers (Maine Island Trail Ale is being released this week!) while engaged in casual conversation before and after. Free snacks and non-alcoholic beverages will also be served.
