Productive day around the Scarborough Marsh today. There was a Snowy Egret at Dunstan Landing among the 9 Great Egrets, 6 American Wigeons, a drake Northern Pintail, a pair of Lesser Scaup, at least 3 Green-Winged Teals,2 Belted Kingfishers, and many Hooded Mergansers along with the usual, larger waterfowl.
Bob and Ann Watson headed down to Pelreco before me and texted me that a earlyish Little Blue Heron was there. It was not visible when I arrived, but soon flew into view. Also 3 Gadwall, 2 Northern Shovelers, and 2 Northern Harriers patrolled the area.
It's great to see how fast things change once a long winter finally loses it's grip!
Bird haahd!
