I was able to locate one of the BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT HERONS and the BELTED KINGFISHER on a spin around the pond although the growth is so thick I was lucky to spot it. Thanks Joanne for locating these. I used to spend my lunch break working down in Dover NH watching these at the Fish Ladder Park on the Coheco where there were sometimes up to 6-8 of them working the river. I can't see this bird often enough.

As a plus, we were walking back to the truck when an OSPREY came cruising down the Fore River. It patrolled the coast and then made a grid pattern out over the water doubling back 4 times before flying off.
On the way there I did stop to see the CACKLING GOOSE in Cumberland as well. The WOOD DUCKS were still there, but the ring-necked duck was replaced by 4 HOODED MERGANSERS.
