Hi all,
One week since my last visit, the Sanford Lagoons is a vastly
different place. Three of the four ponds have open water, and there
are lots of ducks (including Lesser Scaup, Ring-necked Duck, Common
Merganser, Blue-winged Teal, Northern Pintail, Green-winged Teal,
Bufflehead, etc.) and several raptors (Bald Eagles, Northern Harriers,
Osprey, Red-tailed Hawk). Other highlights included Snow Bunting, an
adult Iceland Gull, Wilson's Snipe, and Tree Swallows. All in all, a
great morning of birding!
