[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights and New Arrivals, 3/28-4/3

 Hi all,

Some sightings of note from me over the past seven days included:
- 3 RED CROSSBILLS, Madeleine Point, Cousin's Island, Yarmouth, 3/28 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group. Photos below).
- 1 drake COMMON EIDER SSP BOREALIS, Two Lights State Park, 3/31 (with Andrew Wolfgang).
- 22 Harlequin Ducks, Two Lights State Park through Dyer Point, Cape Elizabeth, 3/31 (with Andrew Wolfgang).
- 1 RED CROSSBILL, Hedgehog Mountain Park, Freeport, 4/1.
- 33 Bohemian Waxwings plus 4 migrants, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 4/3.
- 1 Common Redpoll, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 4/3.

And my personal first-of-years this week were as follows:
- 3 Brown-headed Cowbirds, feeders here at the store, 3/29.
- 18 Ring-necked Ducks (first of spring), Scarborough Marsh, 3/30.
- 3 Great Egrets, Scarborough Marsh, 3/30.
- 3 Brant, Kettle Cove, Cape Elizabeth, 3/30. 11 present on 3/31 (with Andrew Wolfgang).
- 1 Fox Sparrow, feeders here at the store, 3/30.
- 1 Snow Bunting, Kettle Cove, Cape Elizabeth, 3/31 (with Andrew Wolfgang; photos).
- 4+ American Woodcocks, Pownal, 4/1 (with Andrew Wolfgang and Jeannette).
- 1 Eastern Phoebe, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, Pownal, 4/3.
- 1 Chipping Sparrow, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 4/3.
- 14 Tree Swallows, Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 4/3.
- 1 Northern Flicker (first of spring), Bradbury Mountain Hawkwatch, 4/3.

NOTE: Tomorrow night's "Woodcocks Gone Wild" walk at Pineland Farms has been postponed until next Saturday, 4/11 due to forecasted high winds.
