Hi all,
Yesterday, I spent some time birding along Rt. 26 and Rt. 16 in Oxford
County. I saw/heard many PINE SISKINS, PURPLE FINCHES, WHITE-WINGED
CROSSBILLS, and RED CROSSBILLS, with several flocks first seen picking
grit at the edge of both highways.
On Rt. 16, near Turner Rd., in Lower Cupsuptic Township I had a close
encounter with a pair of vocal BOREAL CHICKADEES. Also along Rt. 16,
but in Magalloway Plantation, 3+ GRAY JAYS were active with 5+ BLUE
JAYS at the food scrap pile opposite the Trading Post Restaurant.
