[Maine-birds] Gray Kingbird continues, 4 species warbler, 2 Snowy Owls, etc, Saco-Biddeford, 11/7.

Hi all,

Jeannette and I spent the morning birding Saco and Biddeford today. What a morning!

We began at the Saco Riverwalk, where we found an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, a male COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, and a "WESTERN" PALM WARBLER. The Palm joined bluebirds in eating a hatch of flies (spp?) in one of the chambers of the sewerage treatment plant.

We then enjoyed the continuing GRAY KINGBIRD at Fortune's Rocks Beach. Between 10:20 and 10:50, it was constantly visible, splitting time between the wrack line full of Seaweed Flies (Coelopa frigida) in the cove opposite the end of Lily Pond Ave and the yards and fences of houses along Lily Pond Ave.

24 Dunlin were with +/-44 Sanderlings there and on the main part of the beach.

Two SNOWY OWLS and their paparazzi were present along Mile Stretch.

We then had the continuing CAPE MAY WARBLER at #6 Seventh St in the Biddeford Pool neighborhood, but we could not find ourselves a Yellow-rumped to bring us to 5 species of warbler on the day!

And finally, we spotted a Turkey Vulture from the windows of Palace Diner.
