[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights, 1/20-24.

Hi all,

A handful of observations of note over the past five days included:

- 4 SNOWY OWLS, Biddeford Pool, 1/21 (with Jeannette; many photos).

- 1 female LESSER SCAUP, 14 Razorbills, 1 1st-winter Glaucous Gull, etc., East Point, Biddeford Pool, 1/21 (with Jeannette).

- 8 Horned Larks, behind Hattie's, Biddeford Pool, 1/21 (with Jeannette).

- 4 Glaucous Gulls (season-to-date high count; 3 1st-W, 1 ad) and 12+ Iceland Gulls (8+ 1st-W, 1 2nd-W, 3 Ad), thorough "survey" of Portland Harbor, 1/23.

- 1 continuing drake NORTHERN PINTAIL, behind Bay Harbor Car Wash, Broadway, South Portland, 1/23.

- 5 drake Barrow's Goldeneyes continue in the Lower Harraseeket River, between the Freeport Town Wharf and Winslow Park through week's end.

- all three mergansers continue at Grist Mill Park in Yarmouth through week's end as well.
