> Weather:
> It was a cold day at the count site with ESE winds. The first hour of the
> count the sun was shining, but overcast skies came with snow showers, then
> a thick cloud bank held out for the duration of the count. Precipitation
> was all around Bradbury, however little snow fell on the mountain, keeping
> visibility good. The temperature did not rise above freezing and east
> southeast winds made for a chilly count.
>
> Raptor Observations:
> Eight migrants were recorded today. Forty-five minutes into the count the
> day started with a male Northern Harrier high above the summit. Things
> started to slow down as the clouds came in. Local Bald Eagles and Turkey
> Vultures did not mind the clouds or winds, and these birds were active
> until the last few hours of the count.
>
> Non-raptor Observations:
> A total of twenty three species were observed from the count site today,
> many American Robins at the count site and a nice look at a Golden-crowned
> Kinglet, too. Here are other migrants observed:
>
> Canada Goose 6
> American Black Duck 2
> Common Merganser 1
>
> Predictions:
> After rain this evening, things are predicted to warm up a bit!
> Unfortunately, ENE winds are expected during tomorrows count at 5-10 mph.
> However, even with overcast skies the sun might peak through and birds
> could be flying on a clear afternoon!
