[Maine-birds] Scarborough Marsh Spring Migrants, 2/24

Hi all,

Spring has sprung in Scarborough Marsh. This morning, I encountered the following:
- total of 21 Red-winged Blackbirds (First of year)
- 1 LAPLAND LONGSPUR and 15 Horned Larks, along with 1 Belted Kingfisher, Eastern Road Trail.
- 1 immature male NORTHERN SHOVELER (FOY), 7 Ring-necked Ducks (FOY), 3 Northern Pintails, 2 Green-winged Teal, 250+ American Black Ducks, etc, from the Eastern Road Trail.
- 1 Killdeer (FOY), flying south over marsh at the Eastern Road Trail.
- 1 drake NORTHERN SHOVELER and 1 drake GADWALL, Pelreco marsh.
- 54 Common Loons between the Pine Point Co-op and the mouth of the river.

I'd celebrate the arrival of spring more if it wasn't still February!

-Derek
