See comments below
Common Eider (would love to see it in breeding plumage)
Hens and drakes are exceeding common all along the coast. Any of the trips I suggest below will easily yield this species.
Razorbill
Can be randomly encountered on state ferries to most islands but best shot is the Hardy Boat to eastern egg rocky or better shot is any puffin trips out to Machias Seal Island.
Black Guillemot
See comments above. Though the rarest alcid in the Atlantic it is the most common Alcid in the gulf of Maine. Very likely.
Atlantic Puffin
See comment above for razorbill. Likely at nesting island from may to mid august.
Great Shearwater
Same as above. Sooty shearwaters too. Need to be offshore obviously. Can be encountered from headlands like Pemaquid point - need scope and patience scanning horizon.
Manx Shearwater
Same as above but rather unlikely.
Wilson Storm-Petrel
Above. Likely but varies between year.
Great Cormorant
Above. The outer island trips are your best shot. Likely.
Bicknell's Thrush (or are these easier in a bordering state like New Hampshire)
Must get above 2500 feet into smaller stature spruce. Hit or miss. Playback helps but may not be your style. I have done well on mountains around Greenville Maine - number 4 mountain, baker mountain etc. habitat and elevation are key. Need 4X drive and comfortable driving on logging roads. Maybe NH or VT has more user friendly access.
Saltmarsh Sparrow
Weskeag marsh - only place on earth where both species can be seen! Need big scope and luck and patience and low to no wind.
Email me and I can help you further if this isn't enough.
