Visitors:
Mid morning, students and teachers from Westbrook Middle School arrived at the summit, some helped scan the surrounding area, while others asked me questions or ventured off to explore the secret caves. Unfortunately, there was not anything to be seen while they were here. However, less than two minutes after they all left, I had three different species of raptors skim the summit. Mid afternoon brought a small walking group of 5 women who were all nature and bird enthusiasts. I enjoyed talking with them and I was glad they were able to view some of the local birds.

Weather:
Bradbury Mountain refused to succumb to the approaching weather system today. Light rain started and stopped for most of the count period. The radar image looked like the profile of an alligator's head, mouth agape, with Bradbury situated between its jaws, the one clear spot. I could see precipitation all around and a few times I thought my day was about to end, but the rain never settled in. There was a brief period when it was surprisingly pleasant and calm. Winds were light, ranging from northeast to east-southeast. Temperatures remained just below 50 degrees.

Raptor Observations:
Not much of an air show today. Local birds were active. Osprey were seen a couple of times carrying fish.

Non-raptor Observations:
There was not a lot of Passerine activity or non raptor migrants. Northbound birds included:
3 Double-crested Cormorants
3 Common Loons
2 American Goldfinch

Predictions:
Uh oh! Storm a comin'. Could be wet, real wet. Let's pick this back up on Thursday.
