[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights, 3/10-16

Hi all,
My observations of note over the past seven days included:
- noticeable return of Purple Finches to the coastal plain, along with a push of Song Sparrows, Dark-eyed Junco, and the first waterfowl.
- Long Falls Dam Road, Somerset County, 3/11 (with Zane Baker).
1 BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER
25 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS
23 RED CROSSBILLS
Pine Siskins were very common and Purple Finches were scattered about.
- Scarborough Marsh, 3/12 (with Jeannette).
2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS (FOY, Eastern Road Trail).
4 American Wigeon (FOY, Eastern Road Trail).
3 Ring-necked Ducks (FOY, Eastern Road Trail).
1 Green-winged Teal (FOY, Eastern Road Trail).
25 Northern Pintails
3 Greater Scaup (Pine Point)
