[Maine-birds] Scarborough Marsh this evening: Lesser Yellowlegs, Little Blue Heron, Tricolored Heron

Hi all -- Nice walk on Eastern Road this evening (5 - 6 p.m.) in Scarborough Marsh. The first section of the walk featured 3 swallow species - Bank, Barn, and Tree - two of which were "confirmed breeding" entries in the Maine Atlas project. It was fun to witness airborne food exchanges between adult and fledgling Barns.

In the outer pannes, Saltmarsh Sparrows were both vocal and surprisingly visible on the north side of the road. 6 Lesser Yellowlegs were my first southbound migrants of the "fall." And the Little Blue and Tricolored Herons were visible, with patience and a scope, on the south of the road. No luck this time on the Little Egret.

Cheers,
Craig K
