Weather:
Today was quite warm and sunny up at the summit. Winds were out of the east most of the day.
Raptor Observations:
We counted our 1,000th raptor of the season today! Today was pretty decent considering the unfavorable winds. Sharpies are starting to build in number.
Non-raptor Observations:
Today's non-raptor migrants are as follows: -American Goldfinch: 4 -Tree Swallow: 16 -Duck Spp.: 1 -Common Merganser: 2 -Shorebird Spp.: 1 -Red Crossbill: 3 A total of 26 species were detected from the summit.
Predictions:
Tomorrow could be pretty good for migrating raptors! Winds will start out of the west but will quickly shift to the south. Temps will peak at nearly 70 degrees! Sunny skies tomorrow.
