[Maine-birds] Mystery bird sound ID help

I have been hearing this sound on and off for the last week or two and can't seem to make heads or tails of it. I've only heard it incidentally (i.e. sans optics) and haven't been able to get eyes on the bird. The Merlin sound ID function is stumped, and so am I. The bird seems to prefer edgy deciduous habitats; this is the only sound I've heard it make. To my ear the nearest match is red crossbill, but I don't think that's what it actually is. I'd love to hear what ideas you all may have!

Thanks,
Tom
