Phippsburg, Maine Map 6 Totman Cove
today:
tremendous numbers of feeder birds for a week now, highest count (53) of Juncos ever!  Lone Rusty Blackbird continues (photos at link below).
Also had Northern Shrike hunting feeder birds, saw it snag a hapless Chickadee and tore off through the trees with its prize. I'm guessing it will be back as the pickings are really good with small birds.
Also had Sharp Shinned hawk crash into living room window that is 6x8. Tremendous crash almost in my face as I was standing right there. Bird careened off to a tree branch, took a few seconds to collect itself then took off. It was Mourning dove chasing, as is their usual here.
Bald eagle hunting Am Black ducks, Buffleheads, Com Goldeneyes, causing all of them along with the gulls to flush to the skies.
Raptors to the south of me, raptors to the north of me, raptors to the east of me.......oh my! Oh, my!
Wild turkeys feeding daily with junco hordes and Rusty BB, such a weird combo of birds!
