[Maine-birds] Golden Eagle, Red-headed Woodpecker, and leucistic Black-capped Chickadee - all yes, Bath, 1/7

Hi all,
Jeannette and I enjoyed a frigid but rewarding morning "twitching" in Bath.

First up was the Bath landfill, where the 1st Cycle Golden Eagle was present and accounted for (between 9:55 and 10:20am).

Then, the 1st winter Red-headed Woodpecker was at telephone pole #24, opposite the Hill House on Whiskeag Rd. The most interesting behavior that we observed was the bird wedging the better part of a saltine cracker in a crack on pole #26.

And finally - my favorite bird of the morning - the spiffy leucistic Black-capped Chickadee was visiting the feeders of Bee Haven Farm, also opposite the Hill House.

All three were photographed extensively by Jeannette.
