Yesterday concern was expressed over snow & ice covered birds <iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/40551300@N03/11744565683/player/f52dd077a0" height="375" width="500" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe> This is a photo of what most of my flock of goldfinches and chickadees looked like early yesterday. they alternated between feeding and preening to remove the ice and snow. They were fine after removing the snow. I did have one A.Goldfinch which must have gotten its feet wet in the birdbath and then stayed to long on an ice covered branch. It wasn't able to free itself and died to high up to rescue.
Regulars today including continuing Rusty Blackbird. Yesterday Flood Farm had a Snow Bunting, Lapland Longspurs and Horned Larks.
