[Maine-birds] Ogunquit Beach Longtails, Scoters, Mallards

Hundreds of Mallards still feeding in the surf and in the River at Ogunquit Beach for weeks now. Two Common Loons feeding in river next to bridge couple days ago - got photo of one with green crab. Didn't know they ate them.
Today Jan 1 about 3:00pm I counted seven beautiful Long-tailed ducks out past the surf behind the Mallards on main beach. Three males seemed to be tussling about, flew a short distance then either landed together quite sloppily and immediately dove down together, or they were back at each other even under water. Spotted White-winged Scoter, pair of Eiders, female Buffleheads.
Early just before 2pm at the Nubble got photo of Surf Scoter. Saw pair of RB Mergansers swim round the northerly point so no picture.
Last Saturday got photo of seven Harlequins off Lobster Point Marginal Way, Ogunquit.
No Snowies tho we looked atop Mt A. and Cliff House where I photo'd them 11/22 and 12/16.
