The sound of footsteps came and went one time.
Weather:
It was a frustrating weather day, even more so now as I type this before 5pm seeing blue sky out the window. Rain persisted throughout the morning and start of the afternoon. I arrived at the summit at 1:30pm EST and was met with a light mist, a gentle SE breeze and visibility at .75 miles. Within minutes the visibility dropped to a couple hundred yards. Reports made it sound like there could be some clearing around 2:30, so I waited it out. By 3:30 with no improvement I closed up. By the time I was a couple miles down rte 9 I was seeing sunshine, yet the summit behind me was still shrouded in fog. I'd like to believe the summit is still foggy and I'm not missing too many birds this final hour.
Raptor Observations:
No raptors could be seen and none were heard.
Non-raptor Observations:
5 Species were heard and one Eastern Phoebe was spotted
Predictions:
Another day of east and southeasterly winds, around 10mph. Probably a mostly cloudy day with a chance or rain. Potential for rain increases in the afternoon hours but I hope it's light enough to do the ol' hunch the shoulders and wait for it to pass. Temps could scrape 50
