[Maine-birds] Busy feeders in South Portland

WOW!!    Lots of action all morning  as the snow fell - 13 No. Cardinals by the feeders at one time along with many Juncos, a few Jays , and a couple Tree Sparrows .

Everyone once in a while my immature Cooper’s Hawk made a pass at the feeder occupants - then perched hidden in the evergreens - so far in my observation of the hawk’s activity today it is zero for 6 !!  It could have been successful when I was not watching .  A couple of days ago I saw it nail a Blue Jay and enjoyed its meal under a pine tree.   Hey, it has to eat too!  Food chain in action!

Try to find a way to enjoy the snow and cold - looks like we are in for a good old fashion winter!!
