Sad news at the feeders in the woods today. I was finishing up shoveling one of my loop paths and spotted just off the trail, one of the local Sharp Shins had expired.
He was headfirst in the snow and slightly turned about half way, so his underside was exposed. Will inspect a little closer tomorrow in the day light.
Another strange observation today. There have been absolutely no birds or wildlife at the feeders in the woods today. Normal is activity from sunup to about 2 hours before sundown.
