An unusually large flock of Horned Larks (for inland Waldo county) seems to have taken up winter residence on Knox ridge near Kinney's compost. A good place to look for them is at the church parking lot just north of the Rt 220 x Rt 137 intersection. The road traffic here can be heavy so be aware.
Yesterday there were almost 120 but there were even larger numbers before the blizzard.
