Hi all,
Jeannette and I enjoyed a beautiful, and very productive day, birding Wells, Ogunquit, and York.
Highlights included:
- 1 singing Carolina Wren, Marginal Way, Ogunquit.
- 1 Razorbill off Marginal Way was surprisingly our only one of the day.
- 1 DOVEKIE (northbound) and 1 dark-morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK (southbound, well offshore!), The Cliff House, Ogunquit.
- 1 DICKCISSEL, Sohier Park, The Nubble.
- 1 gorgeous drake NORTHERN PINTAIL X MALLARD hybrid and 3 WOOD DUCKS, Abbott's Pond, York (hybrid has been present sporadically over the last month or so, according to a local birder). I'll get some of Jeannette's photos posted in the next day or two.
- 15 Horned Larks, Wells Harbor.
- otherwise, fairly low numbers of almost every waterbird, especially scoters.
- Derek
