Yesterday afternoon about this time of day there was one perched for quite a while on a balcony railing 3 floors down from the top of the Portland House apartment building adjacent to the Eastern Promenade. I didn't have binoculars but the bird in was obviously a Peregrine by its size and motionless erect stance. Less than an hour ago I got great view of one flying about10 feet above and across the Casco Bay Bridge right in front of my car, with heavy mask and breast clear as day.. I'd hazard a guess that it was in subadult plumage because the head looked like an adult and the breast was quite streaky looking. Could maybe have been the same individual I saw yesterday as the 2 locations aren't extremely far from each other?
