[Maine-birds] American Woodcock - Kennebunk Plains

Had an American woodcock peenting and displaying at Kennebunk Plains this evening with some calling eastern whip-poor-wills and a lone upland sandpiper.

A woodcock was also seen peenting and displaying at the same lek about a month ago with the Maine Audubon trip, and tonight's was using the same spot. So this could potentially be the same individual.

Kind of feel bad for the guy, since most woodcocks are long past courtship. But hey, it seems a lot of folks these days are putting off having kids till later, so maybe he's just hip.
