[Maine-birds] 1. Fledgling? 2. Birds and windows

This morning I was attracted by some very insistent bird sounds rather like "chink" given rapidly and with a bit of an insect sound. I finally tracked it down to a maple tree in the edge of the woods. There I saw a small flock of female BT Green Warblers, but the one making all the noise appeared to be an immature male--didn't have a completely colored throat. He was also doing that trembling movement that young birds do when they want to be fed. Then I saw one of the females feed him. Is this within the usual time frame?

Secondly, I wonder if anyone on this list has used Acopian Bird Savers on your windows? If so, have they worked? To my chagrin, I discovered that the WT Sparrows are still about when I found the body of one on our front porch, just below our picture window. We had the same unhappy experience back in the spring. At the moment we are keeping a lamp on in front of the window. Any input would be welcomed.
