Subject: Monhegan birding
...our sightings appear similar to yours. Our trip list so far stands at 70 species, with also only 9 warbler species. Highlights have been: 3 Great Shearwater (ferry crossing Wed.), the Gannet show, b-w teal (this am on Ice Pond), 3 Ospreys, lots Merlins, Peregrine ( this am over Lobster Cove), Sora adult (Main St drainage ditch Thurs.), Lesser Black-backed Gull ( prob 3rd winter today flying by Lobster Cove and so. End Manana), Razorbill (Linda saw Thurs with Doug Hitchcox), 2 Swainson's Thrush, 1 White-eyed Vireo, 1 Blue-headed Vireo, 3 Phila. Vireos (together Thurs along road below Lighthouse), 9 species warblers (nothing rare), Clay-colored Sparrow (near Verizon tower Thurs), Lark Sparrow (this am at Lobster Cove heath), 1 Baltimore Oriole.
