On the sod fields at the corner of Old River and McNiel roads today there were 13 Golden Plovers, 18 Killdeers and 6 American Robins. Around the corner, on McNiel, in the newly plowed field to the south about a half mile the Sandhill Crane was very visible on the edge of a flock of 75 Canada Geese.
