Anyone know what the black and white arthopods (I assume they are insects) that walk around on mud flats are called? I noticed them this morning at Popham Beach, but strangely have never paid attention. They almost look like inch-long black and white moths crawling around on the ground, except they have very large eyes, and mandibles as well.
