[Maine-birds] Feathers Over Freeport: A Birdwatching Weekend - this weekend (Apr 25-26)

 Hi all,

This weekend marks the 5th Annual Feathers Over Freeport: A Birdwatching Weekend here in Freeport/Pownal. A partnership between us and our store and the Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry's Bureau of Parks and Lands, we have two fun-filled days of events scheduled for birders of all ages and abilities.

Children's birdwalks and a variety of family-friendly activities are one of the most popular features of the weekend, along with the live raptor and owl presentations each day by Wind Over Wings. Other activities of possible interest to the listserve include a hawkwatch workshop, beginning photography workshop, and birdwalks on Saturday and Bradbury Mountain State Park, and on Sunday at Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park: more birdwalks, another photography workshop, and intimate views of nesting Ospreys. Vernal Pool and plant ID walks, and more, round out the various days' events.

All events are free with regular park entry, and there is no pre-registration for anything.
