[Maine-birds] American Woodcock--daytime twittering flight?

Do woodcocks only do their twittering flight thing at dusk or in the morning? Because I could swear I heard one this afternoon around 2 pm. He must've been doing it over and over, too--at least three series.

P.S.--is anyone familiar with Sibley's drawing of a woodcock's flight display pattern? Saw it the other day--pretty interesting that they all do the same pattern. And there's a free download on his website. In case you're interested.

P.P.S.--turns out that "mourning warbler" that I was SO SURE was just a little confused newbie was... wait for it... just another brown creeper. Sigh. That'll teach me to go with a call my ears can barely hear. Sheesh.
