10/2/15
A single Northern Fulmar at the red bell buoy just south of Egg Rock in Frenchman Bay this afternoon. Rare for this area.
Six White-winged Scoters passing south through the bay.
Immature Bald Eagle feeding on a hatching year Herring Gull, chased off my an adult eagle at Egg Rock.
Spotted Sandpipers still present on most the bay islands.
.....not in the bay...last Ruby-throated Hummingbird at Thuya Gardens in Northeast Harbor was on 9/30 (so far anyway).
.....non-bird. A late hatch of Monarch caterpillars at Thuya with all sizes from just hatched to full size being seen. Several chrysalae seen but survival doubtful due to late date.
