Hi all,
An immature female-type Selasphorous hummingbird (mostly likely Rufous/Allens) was photographed at a feeder on Cousin's Island in Yarmouth last week. After being present all day on Friday, it was last seen at 8:00am on Saturday morning. I viewed several photos on Saturday afternoon, but I have been waiting to receive them and study them more carefully before posting (perhaps with an actual identity of the bird!).
But, I figured I'd post for now as a heads up, and at least as reinforcement as to why it's worth keeping up your hummingbird feeders through October.
More soon,
-Derek
