Visitors:
The park was abuzz with kids and dogs on school vacation. 19 people visited the hawkwatch, several toting binoculars and scopes.

Weather:
Today's winds were mostly out of the NW, moderate with some gusts, but overall not bad. The sky started out with some cloud cover which completely disappeared by midday making for more challenging viewing conditions. Temperatures climbed steadily into the mid-50s.

Raptor Observations:
It was a fairly slow day for mid-April, but not surprising given the winds and having had 2 great days prior. At around 2:45 EDT I noticed a passing vulture over Little Bradbury with a stumpy tail and white wingtip flashes - BLACK VULTURE. We watched the bird climb rather quickly into the sky, then pass off to the north/northeast. The final act of the day at 4:45 was a kettle of 10 Broad-winged Hawks that suddenly appeared just off the summit - the only kettle of the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
There was not much happening birdwise today. Only 2 Tree Swallows and 1 Purple Finch were recorded as migrants. A paltry 22 species were seen or heard.

Predictions:
Tomorrow should be partly cloudy with a moderate breeze out of the east, switching to SE midday. It looks like this will be the best of the next several days as winds become more easterly and rain arrives. Let's hope for some migrants ahead of this next weather system.
