[Maine-birds] FOY Osprey

FOY (for me) Osprey here in Alna on the Sheepscot. Calling, but I did not hear another respond.
Also a pair of Common mergansers has been around for about a week, and a handful of Hooded Mergansers, and last week a large group of Commons Goldeneyes!

Sadly, on a casual walk of less than 30 minutes on my property through a sparsely wooded but bramble-y area along the river I also collected over 2 DOZEN ticks off me.
After participating in a tick survey for the Maine Forest Service a couple of summers ago I started carrying a small plastic bottle of alcohol and a pair of tweezers when out walking. I pick the ticks and drop them in on the spot. Most walks result in a low of 2 or 3 up to maybe 8. I have never experienced this many before.
