This morning at Pine Point, while scanning for Whimbrel or Oystercatcher
(0 for 2), I had a poor, but identifiable look at 2 Hudsonian Godwits
flying away. This was around 9:30. This afternoon, around 1:00, out in
the pannes on Eastern Road, I had good looks at 3 molting adult
Hudsonian Godwits; a far cry from the days when one could expect to find
a dozen or more in the area. Not many other shorebirds around, but
there were about 10 Stilt Sandpipers.
