Yesterday, Nov. 18, Jerry Smith and I took a trip downeast to see the
Pink-footed Goose in Cherryfield. We stopped in Egypt, Me at a house on the corner of HWY182 and the Goodwin Road where the homeowners are feeding cracked corn to a large number of
Mallards,
American Black Ducks and
Canada Geese. At feeders in their front yard we briefly saw an oriole which flew to the top of a Poplar tree and sat there for a few minutes. Unfortunately we could not get a clear view of anything but the underside. I believe it was an immature/female type Baltimore Oriole but can't be sure. If any one goes by that area it might be a good idea to check for this bird. An imm.
Baltimore Oriole continues to come to our feeders at the end of Kaler St. in Winterport as well.
Good Birding,
John
