[Maine-birds] Willets at Pine Point Scarboro

Around noontime today Pat Sanborn, Joanne Stevens, Ann Hancock and I found three birds at a distance on the shoreline along the Creek at the Co-op.  We believe they were (left to right in the picture posted on my flickr page)  A Western Willet, Eastern Willet and Short-billed Dowitcher.   Interesting study. The picture is a tad fuzzy due to the distance from us.  While moving to a better vantage point, of  course the birds flew away as the tide was coming in!!

Any one want to take a look to see if you agree with our ID ?  If you do, please let me know if you have other ideas on their ID.

We also saw the Hudsonian Godwit behind the Nature Center that Doug reported seeing late today.

Good birds on Hills Beach were the Marbled Godwit that has been seen frequently and a beautiful  Am Golden Plover in close to full breeding plumage.

Great day to be out birding.   Marie Jordan
