[Maine-birds] Pleasant River bridge in Addison

Today, we had 8 species of shorebirds at the tidal ponds north of the Pleasant River bridge in Addison.   Among them were 3 Hudsonian Godwits and a Stilt Sandpiper.  We had just spotted what we thought was a Pectoral Sandpiper when all the birds simply exploded into the air and a Peregrine Falcon zoomed over the ponds.  We watched it stoop 3 times over a Lesser Yellowlegs (smart bird, it didn't fly!!).  We're new permanent residents of Harrington and are thrilled to have this shorebirding resource so close.

We also birded the Addison Town Beach and Preserve Area and found a good number of passerine migrants - nothing unusual, but lots of action!
