[Maine-birds] Barrow's goldeneye, East Machias

There was still a handsome Barrow's goldeneye holding court on the East Machias River yesterday in the company of common goldeneye hens.  I saw this BAGO from Factory Road that runs alongside the river in East Machias.  There's been at least one Barrow's goldeneye at this location for most of the winter.

I had hoped to see lots of waterfowl feeding in the intertidal bays of Washington County by now, but I'm not finding much around yet.  I typically start seeing an uptick in numbers of black duck, gadwall, wigeon, and green-winged teal  by the middle of March. Maybe in another week?
