I finally got a chance to check the Cascade Falls on Cascade Rd today in Saco for Louisiana Waterthrush and sure enough, there was one or two down below the falls. I learned a few months ago that there was a waterfall down there so I had been planning to check this spot in mid April.
A lot of people are hesitant to post this species in fear of birders taping them out of their territory. I am going to be trusting of my fellow birders and hope that everyone will be respectful to this uncommon breeding bird in our state. If you don't hear it or see it, try again early in the morning. It should be singing then! Also a Winter Wren was singing down theyah.
Bird haahd,
