[Maine-birds] Sanford Lagoons report...

Hello all,

I birded the Sanford Lagoons (aka Sanford Sewer District) this
morning. The main ponds are 99% frozen, but there were still plenty of
birds to be seen/heard. Highlights included a Ruffed Grouse just over
the northeast fence line, my FOY Eastern Phoebe, a pair of Wood Ducks
on the Mousam River, and an adult Bald Eagle. An employee told me that
he's seen a pair of Bald Eagles hanging around and kindly pointed out
a nest in an Eastern White Pine. There may have been a bird on the
nest, but I couldn't tell.
