Re: [Maine-birds] Birders coming to Monhegan this spring

This has to be the nicest invitation I've ever received.  Birds AND muffins!

Last year was a gangbuster spring birding season and it was fun to meet so many of you.  A lot of birders suggested that I have a donation jar to help pay for all of the birdseed I put out, but it seemed weird to ask for money for something I love and would do anyway. This year I'm suggesting birders bring birdseed if you want. It will help keep me supplied and help the birds. In exchange I'm going to bake muffins for you all when things are hopping! Whether or not you donate seed - everyone is welcome to come up in the yard, look for birds and eat muffins! Don't be shy. If you're new it is the red house across from The Trailing Yew, upper driveway. The dogs are noisy but friendly.

Just had my first male Brown-Headed Cowbird this morning, and suddenly lots of Juncos and Song Sparrows.

See you soon!
