Visitors:
24 people visited the hawkwatch.

Weather:
Fog enshrouded the mountain for an hour this morning, which delayed the count until it partially cleared. Skies were overcast. Winds were light and mainly from the southeast. Rain ended the count at 11:45 am EST. Although the rain stopped during late afternoon, fog socked in the summit again.

Raptor Observations:
It was a good morning of hawkwatching despite the conditions. There was a nice little flight of Merlins, and most birds were close. However, some raptors may not have been visible due to the fog.

Non-raptor Observations:
Quite a few non-raptor migrants were moving this morning. A flock of ten Great Blue Herons flew by! 30 bird species were observed. Species deemed migrating:
53 passerine sp.
51 Double-crested Cormorants
37 blackbird sp.
34 Common Grackles
22 warbler sp.
11 Great Blue Herons
5 American Goldfinches
5 Brown-headed Cowbirds
5 Tree Swallows
4 Yellow-rumped Warblers
2 American Robins
2 Barn Swallows
1 Common Loon
1 Red-winged Blackbird

Predictions:
Tomorrow is predicted to be quite windy, with 15-25 mph west winds increasing in speed as the day progresses. Temperatures should be in the fifties with partly cloudy skies. The cloud breakup and wind direction should bring some birds our way, but the wind speed may keep things a bit slow.
