While generally slow, we had a few nice birds on Monhegan today (Saturday 9/16). Highlights included a dingy green-backed HY PAINTED BUNTING between Hill Studio and the Jamie Weyth house, multiple LARK SPARROWS and CLAY-COLORED SPARROW. I had brief looks at the continuing RED-HEADED WOODPECKER in the morning near the Brewery, but it proved elusive the rest of the day. Fair numbers of Red-eyed Vireos and a smattering of warblers, but overall numbers were low.
