[Maine-birds] This Week's Highlights and Shorebird high counts, 9/2-9/8.

Hi all,

My observations of note over the past seven days included:
- scattered small numbers of Common Nighthawks on several nights - best season I have personally had for them here along the southcoast.
- 2 contining adult SANDHILLS CRANES, Pineland Farms fields along Mayall Road, Gray/New Gloucester, 9/2 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
- 3 adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS, Popham Beach State Park, Phippsburg, 9/3.
- 1 DICKCISSEL, Ledge Road, North Yarmouth, 9/5. 
- 1 adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, Pine Point, Scarborough, 9/5.
- 1 Common Tern, Simpson's Point, Brunswick, 9/6.
- 9 continuing Great Egrets, Essex Marsh, Bangor, 9/7.
- 1 adult LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and 2 White-winged Scoters, Seawall, Acadia National Park, 9/8 (with Rich MacDonald).

Meanwhile, my shorebird high counts for the week were as follows:
Black-bellied Plover: 96, Popham Beach State Park, 9/3.
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER: 1 ad, Mayall Road, Gray/New Gloucester, 9/2 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group). 1 fly-over, Eastern Road Trail, Scarborough Marsh, 9/4 (with Jeannette).
Semipalmated Plover: 164, Pine Point, 9/5 (with Jeannette).
Killdeer: 32, Mayall Road, Gray/New Gloucester, 9/2 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
Solitary Sandpiper: 1, Essex Woods 9/7 and Mount Desert High School ponds, 9/8.
Spotted Sandpiper: 2, Brandon Creek Preserve, MDI, 9/8 (with Rich MacDonald).
Whimbrel: 3 juv, Pine Point, 9/5 (with Jeannette).
Greater Yellowlegs: 6, Pine Point, 9/5 (with Jeannette).
"Eastern" Willet: 3, Pine Point, 9/5 (with Jeannette).
Lesser Yellowlegs: 20, Wharton Point, Brunswick, 9/6.
Ruddy Turnstone: 1, Pine Point Beach, 9/5 (with Jeannette).
Sanderling: 200+, Popham Beach State Park, 9/3.
Semipalmated Sandpiper: 350+, Pine Point, 9/5 (with Jeannette).
Least Sandpiper: 30+, Eastern Road, Scarborough Marsh, 9/4 (with Jeannette).
White-rumped Sandpiper: 34, Pine Point, 9/5 (with Jeannette).
BAIRD'S SANDPIPER: 2, Popham Beach State Park, 9/2.
Pectoral Sandpiper: 1 juv, Essex Marsh, 9/7.
STILT SANDPIPER: 1 juv, Eastern Road Trail, 9/4 (with Jeannette).
BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER (FOY): Mayall Road, Gray/New Gloucester, 9/2 (with Saturday Morning Birdwalk group).
Short-billed Dowitcher: 7, Wharton Point, 9/6.
